We regard complete organisation and handling as part of our substantial marketing activities which we are realising for our members and therefore it’s included in the regular membership fee.

How does it work? The concept: We defined 10 regions so far where tournaments will take place. Golf courses which are “BEST OF”-members will act as venues and sponsors. Members of the hotel and lifestyle sector (restaurants, shops etc.) will appear as sponsors as well by making the tournament prizes available. Of course at those venues whose population is interesting as target group for them. Concrete example: In Turkey Austrians are highly appreciated as guests – Austrians gladly spend their vacation in Turkey. A perfect symbiosis. At BEST OF GOLF AND SKI.com’s Austrian tournament Turkish destinations will be marketed consequently by “BEST OF”-members from Turkey sponsoring tournament prizes. For our members who are acting as sponsors many advantages are arising:

• They will be promoted additionally on our welcome page in line with our tournament series all-the-year.
• They will be promoted additionally at international trade fairs.
• They benefit from additional marketing activities which will be set in the course of tournament series, as e.g. newsletter, media work etc.
• They are enabled to present themselves additionally during the sponsored tournament – with brochures, give-aways etc.
• Members/sponsors can manage their success themselves by making prizes available – e.g. with prizes for weakly utilised periods whereas winners will bring additional turnover (by consumption of meals, drinks, other offers etc.).

BEST OF GOLF AND SKI.com’s “trial” tournament on Gran Canary

Knowledge, how things work the best, is mostly obtainable in practice only. Therefore we had decided to organise a “trial” tournament before we’ll accurately start at the end of the year. In doing so we could gain useful experiences. For instance also those to point out explicitly the applicable kind of game (Stableford instead of stroke play) before starting the tournament in the future. All participants started at 9.30 with a shotgun start, fitted with a BEST OF GOLF AND SKI.com polo shirts. On the course the golfers got catering and after they finished the round – first flights arrived after appr. 4 hours – participants were provided with plenty of food and drinks on the terrace of the club house. Excitement grew until the last flight of 4 found it’s way across the target line after a total of 6 hours. Concluding awards ceremony compensated for the long waiting period. Winners of the different categories were pleased about exquisite prizes which were sponsored by the following BEST OF GOLF AND SKI.com members: Hotel Casa Velha do Palheiro, Clube Palheiro Golfe, Hotel San Agustin Beach Club, Hotel IFA Deutschland, Grand Hotel des Alpes, Hotel Estalgem Serra Golf, Clube de Golf do Santo da Serra, Restaurant Glamour, Hotel RIU Grand Palace Maspalomas Oasis, Lopesan Meloneras Golf and Anfi Tauro Golf.
